We work to the protocol your surgeon sets and keep them updated, because rehabilitation after surgery is a staged job with real limits in the early weeks. Inside those limits the aim is to move you along as fast as the tissue allows, not as slowly as feels safe. Expect supported movement work early, then range, then strength through the range, then the everyday tasks you actually need back: stairs, getting out of a car, carrying two bags at once, sleeping on that side again.

When should I book in after my operation?
Ideally before it. A single pre-operative appointment gives us a baseline and gets the early exercises into your hands while you can still concentrate on them. If you are already out of theatre, book in as soon as your surgeon clears you to start.
Do you work with my surgeon's protocol?
Yes. Bring whatever you were given on discharge, and we will work to it and write back with progress. If something in the protocol does not match what we are seeing, we ask them rather than improvise.
